It was finally great to see that the Surry County Commissioners gave Graham Atkinson a raise. What took so long?

This has been a long time coming. I applaud you!!! Anyone who can’t see what our law enforcement is doing is BLIND.

They risk their lives for us daily. You need them at all times during the day and night. They are there for us even when we might not think so. I am thankful we have such a dedicated sheriff and deputies. How long is it going to take before we do what is right by all our emergency personnel? And I am not only talking about the mentioned, but all of the police — Mount Airy City Police, EMS and Fire Department people. And I’d like to thank all the many volunteers of the fire stations and rescue squads. I thank each and every one of you for jobs well done. You all deserve raises, plus more. Let’s not wait another minute to recognize what needs to take place here in our little town. So, thank you to all of you — I Salute You.
