A new monthly class called Paint the Night Away is being offered by the Surry Arts Council and spaces for the program are going quickly.
The teacher for the class is Surry Arts Council Director of Arts Lizzie Morrison. She said participants are asked to bring a bottle of their favorite wine or beverage and enjoy a fun night of art and entertainment.
“This is a time for you and your friends to enjoy a fun, casual studio atmosphere. You will be amazed at your own creativity as I guide you step-by-step in painting an acrylic masterpiece on pre-stretched canvas that you will take home at the end of the night. Adding your own personal style makes each piece uniquely yours,” she said.
This class is for every skill level, from the experienced painters to the beginners, said Morrison.
“You’re bound to have a great time. In just three hours of painting, you’ll have a wall-ready painting for your home or a great original gift to share,” said Morrison.
Classes will be offered once a month on the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $30 per class. The cost includes all supplies including canvas, paint and brushes. This class is limited to 15 students.
The November class is already filled. There is a waiting list for those who would like to attend if someone cancels. Morrison said there are only three spaces left for the December class.
