PILOT MOUNTAIN — Voices from a quartet of Pilot Mountain churches will join together in song this Sunday beginning at 7 p.m. as First United Methodist Church hosts a “Community Praise Night” in its Family Life Center.

Choirs from First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church and Lovell’s Chapel will join with the First United Methodist Church choir for a night of musical praise in a relaxed environment. No admission will be charged, and drinks and desserts will be served throughout the evening.

“We thought this would be a nice way to bring the community together,” explained FUMC choir member Gaye Gordon, who also is serving to coordinate participating churches. “Each individual choir will sing and then we will all join together in song.”

Gordon noted that while some of the church choirs have been together at past events, this will, to her knowledge, be the first time that all have come together for one evening.

“The main thing about this night,” she noted, “is to have these choirs lift their voices together in Christian love. And we want to invite our community to come out and enjoy an evening of music and fellowship.

“We’re excited and looking forward to the evening,” Gordon continued. “Everyone has worked really hard and we have some great songs. I hope we have a great turnout. It’s an opportunity for the entire community to come together and we want to invite everyone to come out and join us.”
