Members of the Cana Rescue Squad help pilots load an unidentified woman into a helicopter for transport from Fancy Gap Elementary School in Carroll County, Va., to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The woman crashed through a guard rail on Fancy Gap Mountain around noon on Wednesday, going about 40 to 50 feet down the mountain. She was transported by ambulance from the crash scene to Fancy Gap. According to several sources, the woman was attempting to drive herself to the doctor when she crashed. No more information was available at press time.
