Whitney Diane Wilson and Devon Scott Larking, both of Winston-Salem, were married at 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. The Rev. Steve Keaton and the Rev. Mark Key officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Diane Wilson of Winston-Salem. Her grandparents are Gene Fleming and the late Nan B. Fleming and Mr. and Mrs. Jack L. Wilson, all of Mount Airy. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She worked at Wake Forest School of Medicine and is pursuing a nursing degree.

The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ian Fraser Larking. His grandparents are Edith Marwick and the late David Douglas Marwick and Louise Larking and the late Dr. Eric Larking, all of Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is key accounts sales manager for Banks Channel, LLC.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was Kristen Thompson of Raleigh. The maid of honor was Lisa Greenwood of Winston-Salem. The bridesmaids were Shelley Lampke of Charlotte; Jaquelyn Jenkins of Pinehurst; and Susan Silvidi and Lindsey Pattison, both of Winston-Salem.

The bride wore a Judd Waddell ivory silk satin strapless ball gown with a pleated detail at the neckline and beaded Alençon lace detail at the bodice. The back had a pick-up lace appliqué that led to a chapel-length train.

The bridesmaids wore cocktail length strapless sweetheart neckline duponi teal dresses with a draped bodice and matching sash.

The best men were the groom’s brothers, Ken Larking of Pinehurst and Terry Larking of Winston-Salem. The groomsmen were brother of the bride, William Wilson of Winston-Salem; Mike Fox of Wilmington; and Brian Thacker and Kevin Eudy of Winston-Salem.

The flower girl was the groom’s niece, Emma Larking. The ring bearer was the groom’s nephew, Keenan Larking.

Ceremony music was performed by Donna Cooke, organist; Corine Brouwer, violinist; and Amy Spencer and Rick Lowe, soloists. The guest registers were Brooke Fleming and Elizabeth Fleming, cousins of the bride.

The wedding directors were Cheryl Cassell, Jan Frye Hill and Fleeta Hall. Flowers were designed by Beverly’s of Midway. The wedding cake was provided by Edible Artistry.

A reception was held at Deacon Tower in Winston-Salem. Reception music was provided by the Twin City Band. The reception directors were Jane Cole and Sharon Reid. The reception greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Reid of Mount Airy.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Noble’s Grille in Winston-Salem. A bridesmaid’s luncheon, hosted by Sherry Gallisdorfer, was held at Spring House Restaurant.

A shower, hosted by Karolyn Stith, Jean Lowstetter and Cheryl Cassel, was given at the home of Karolyn Stith. A brunch shower, hosted by the bride’s cousins, Jane Cole and Theresa Greene Hazel, was held at Cross Creek Country Club in Mount Airy. An engagement cookout was hosted by the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Fleming.

After a honeymoon trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple will live in Winston-Salem.
