HILLSVILLE, Va. — Mr. Lenville Everett Martin, 78, of Hillsville, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. He was born in Carroll County on Feb. 18, 1934, to the late Everett Lenville and Goldie Ann Quesenberry Martin. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He was a carpenter and a talented brick and stone mason. Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Amy Cassie Willis Martin of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Reed Chism of Anchorage, Alaska; and two sisters, June Semones of Williamsburg and Eulalia Arnold of Salem. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Wayne Martin; and a brother, Mahlon Martin. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Rome Missionary Baptist with the Rev. Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin-Farris Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 6 to 8 p.m., where his body will remain until the time to leave for the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
