MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Haskell Lindsay Easter, 76, of 255 Orchard View Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Easter was born April 29, 1936, in Carroll County, Va., the son of the late Floyd Gilbert Easter and Nellie Mae Easter Hall. Haskell retired from Cross Creek Apparel after 44 years of service. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Phillip Shane Castevens and Deborah and Jeffrey Blake Culler, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Anthony and Melinda Willard Easter of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, Kana Torres, Kasey Castevens, Haskell Easter, Adam Culler, Lindsay Castevens, Amanda Culler and Anthony Easter; two great-grandchildren, Isaac Torres and Mirian Torres; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Hennis and Lorraine Easter of Cana, Va., and Bernell Easter of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Emillie Goins Easter; his stepfather, Charles Hall; a sister, Dorsie Combs; and three brothers, Harvey Easter, Howard Easter and Haywood Easter. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Larry Phillips and the Rev. David Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
