RICHLANDS, Va. — Mrs. Cassie Hall Piedmont, 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in Richlands. She was born in Patrick County, Va., a daughter of the late John and Lucy Hall. Mrs. Piedmont was a long-time member of Grace Moravian Church. She retired from the state of Virginia and also worked at both Lowe’s Hardware and Surry Hospice for many years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Piedmont; and one son, James “Jimmy” Piedmont Jr. Survivors include two sons, Robert Piedmont of Richmond and William Piedmont of Richlands; three grandchildren, Scott Wilson and wife Cindy of Mount Airy, Shannon Piedmont of Abingdon and Betsy Campbell and husband Latane of Ashland; five great-grandchildren, Kyle and Amy Wilson of Mount Airy, Brook-Lynn Farley of Abingdon, Landon and Colin Campbell of Ashland; and one nephew, Eddie Dorsett of Mount Airy. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Grace Moravian Church, with the Rev. Anthony Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Moody Funeral Service is serving the Piedmont family.
