Mrs. Mary Edythe Marion Draughn Age 76 of Mount Airy, NC passed away Friday February 8, 2013 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mrs. Draughn was born February 27, 1936 in Surry County to the late Jack and Euna Belle Marion, she was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Robert Cleveland “Bobby” Draughn of the home, one daughter Jill Draughn Welch of Mount Airy, four sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Janice Draughn, David and Robin Draughn, Doug Draughn and Darrell Draughn all of Mount Airy, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Buddy McHone, Effie and Jimmy Draughn and Nellie and Terry Thomas all of Mount Airy, one brother and sister-in-law Charles and Donna Marion of Mount Airy and her very special friend “Ginger”. In addition to her parents Mrs. Draughn was preceded in death by a sister Geneva “Pete” Rachels and by an infant brother Russell G. Marion. Funeral services will be held Sunday February 10, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Piney Grove Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Mark Reece, Jr., Rev. Kermit Gray and Rev. Rev. David Baker with burial to follow in the Draughn Family Cemetery. Her body will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
