LOUISA, Va. — Mary Jane Tarry, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, 66, of Louisa since 1972 was called home by our Lord and Savior on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Louisa Health Care and Rehab. She was born in Mount Airy on Feb. 16, 1947. She left all those in her path with a smile on their faces and a heart filled with love. Mary Jane was known for her sense of humor and contagious laugh. Retired from Bluegreen Resorts, she was a hard worker who enjoyed gardening and adored music. She was often found playing the guitar or the piano, and entertaining anyone around by singing a tune. Above all, she was most proud of her children and grandchildren, and taught us all to cherish moments with family. Mary Jane was a gift to those blessed to know her, as she brought laughter, music and light into this world. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Olin Nunn. She leaves behind her mother, Ziney Alzry Nunn; three sons, Charles Davis III, his wife Jeanette of Elkton, Md., Jason Davis, his fiancée Jennifer, of Mineral and Joe Tarry Jr., his wife Ashley, of Bumpass; two daughters, Michelle Floody, her husband Jody, and Pamela Davis, both of Mineral; six brothers, Kelly Nunn, his wife Becky, R.D. Nunn, his wife Brenda, Alden Nunn and Arnold Nunn, all of Mount Airy, Saford Nunn, his wife Pat, of Hillsville, and Elvin Nunn, his wife Sharon, of Bristol; three sisters, Rhonda Pruitt, her husband Willie, of Eden, N.C., Vanise Bowman, her husband Michael, of Mount Airy, and Shirley George, her husband Robert, of Stuart; and 16 grandchildren, Charles Davis IV, Meagan Yuksel, Amanda Davis, Jonathan Sprouse, Nicholas Sprouse, Jeremy Sprouse, Allison Sprouse, Matthew Floody, Jarrett Floody, Samantha Clements, Angel Clements, Krista Davis, Jason Davis Jr., Amber Clements, Alexis Clements and Joe Thomas Tarry III; and several nieces, nephews and friends. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Woodward Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jonathan Sprouse, Nicholas Sprouse, Jeremy Sprouse, Jason Davis Jr., Kevin Nunn and Kenny Marshall.
