• A Mount Airy woman is facing a larceny violation for allegedly taking duct tape from Walmart, according to city police department reports. Chelsea Brook Creed, 23, of 323 W. Pine St., is accused of taking a variety of duct tape, valued at $20, at the store late Sunday. Creed is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on May 7.

In connection with the same incident, Christopher Allen Slate, 36, of 203 Oaklawn Road, was arrested for allegedly failing to appear in court in 2003 and held in the Surry County Jail under a $500 secured bond. Slate is to be in District Court on April 30.

• David Lee Thomas, 26, of 109 Guinness Lane, was arrested Saturday night on charges of injury to real property and resisting a public officer after a brief investigation at his residence. An April 11 court date was set for Thomas.

• A stranded-motorist investigation led to felony and other drug charges being filed against two Winston-Salem men Friday night. Taylor Tazz D’Andrea Williams, 21, of 110 Westdale Ave., and Jerwin Kai Dobson, 22, of 2821 Clement St., were encountered by police on Independence Boulevard at North Renfro Street.

This led to the seizure of marijuana and Williams being charged with three felonies, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver; manufacturing, packaging and repackaging a Schedule VI substance; and maintaining a drug vehicle, along with aggravated misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams also was served with an order for arrest for failing to appear in court which had been filed last Friday.

Dobson is accused of misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance along with two other misdemeanors, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed gun. Williams was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $1,500 secured bond, while Dobson is free on a written promise to appear in District Court on April 25, when Williams also is to be in court.
