The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History’s fourth annual Book and Author Dinner will be held on June 4 at Cross Creek Country Club with Sharyn McCrumb and Adam Edwards as the speakers.

McCrumb is a graduate of the University of North Carolina with a graduate degree from Virginia Tech. She has been a New York Times best selling author five times.

Her books are used as course study in 22 colleges throughout the U.S., and she has lectured on her work at Oxford University in Oxford, England, the University of Bonn in Bonn, Germany, the Smithsonian Institution, and was fiction writer in residence at the WICE (World International Conference on Education) in Paris, France.

McCrumb’s historical novels include “The Songcatcher,” “The Ballad of Frankie Silver,” “The Rosewood Casket” and “The Hangman’s Beautiful Daughter.” She also has written a series of books based on the NASCAR experience. The latest of those books was co-written with Edwards.

Edwards is a graduate of Virginia Tech for undergraduate degree and holds an MBA from Tech, also. He has co-written two books with McCrumb, and they present a very interesting and entertaining program on the intricacies of co-writing and the hilarious life of auto racing.

“McCrumb and Edwards are bright, witty and entertaining,” said museum Executive Director Matthew Edwards.

The evening also will include dinner at Cross Creek Country Club and a booksigning session following the program.

Tickets are $60 and may be purchased from any museum board member or by calling 786-4478, ext. 229.
