William Pilson, 4, gets an opportunity to express himself artistically during the Juneteenth Celebration Saturday in the parking lot at L.H. Jones Auditorium.
The Juneteenth holiday marks the official end of slavery in America on June 19, 1865, in Texas. The two-day event co-sponsored by Mount Airy Museum of Regional History and the J.J. Jones High School Alumni began Friday and continued Saturday, featuring music, storytelling, games and presentations highlighting milestones in African-American history.
