Burr and Foxx did not vote against extending unemployment. You fell into the trap.
Burr and Foxx wanted to use some of the billions in stimulus to extend unemployment but Dems who own Washington did not frame the bill that way because they knew that many Americans would not “dig deeper.” The liberals controlling all 3 branches of government did not use the stimulus money nor did they cut anything out of their spending.
The so called stimulus money has already been taken from taxpaying Americans and is laying up there waiting for Obama to give away (to buy votes like yours). “Dig deeper” they want to hyphenate us, divide and continue conquering our chances for any prosperity. They want your dependency and your vote!

To the Editor,
I wish that everyone that reads The Mount Airy News and every other paper that Martha Randolph Carr’s syndicated column appears in would share her column, “Check out a library” with all their elected officials, friends and family.
In this economy many public and school libraries have been closed or their budgets cut. Mount Airy is very fortunate to still have a library. I hope that all patrons of the Mount Airy Public Library are appreciative of Pat Guynn and the rest of the staff and that more people will take advantage of all the opportunities the library has to offer. Where else can you get so many free entertainment and educational services besides a library?
If you haven’t already, write your state legislators and thank them for realizing the value of libraries and for passing the state budget with no cuts to public libraries.
