Mount Airy residents can be assured that if their New Year’s Eve revelry on Monday happens to generate a lot of debris, city garbage crews will be collecting it the next day.
City commercial and industrial sanitation customers will have their pickups delayed because of the holiday.
However, it will be business as usual regarding residential routes on New Year’s Day, which will operate under the regular schedule.
The same will be true of Tuesday’s recycling collections.
On the other hand, commercial routes that normally would be run Tuesday will be handled Wednesday instead. The same is true for industrial collections.
City sanitation officials also have announced that yard wastes will not be picked up Monday.
Municipal offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of New Year’s Day.
