DOBSON — Mr. Thomas Folger Hollingsworth, 83, of Dobson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on June 23, 1929, to the late James William and Annie Folger Hollingsworth. Mr. Hollingsworth began his college career at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and later graduated from Guilford College. He was owner and operator of Hollingsworth Appraisal Company and a dedicated member of Dobson United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities, including adult Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of the Administrative Council. He also served on the Dobson Town Board. Mr. Hollingsworth was an avid reader and a master of crossword puzzles. He loved golf and was a proud supporter of the UNC Tarheels. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mrs. Eunice Folger Hollingsworth of Dobson; two daughters, Lauri Ellen Hollingsworth and husband Earl Rhoades of Asheville and Anne Hollingsworth Knight and husband Ron of Charlotte; and four beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Folger Knight, James Thomas “J.T.” Rhoades, Margaret “Maggie” Knight and Sarah Alexandria Rhoades. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Dobson United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harry Sammons with burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dobson United Methodist Church, P.O.
