Mr. David Andrew Martinez, loving father, son, brother and friend, age 33, of Mount Airy, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at his home. He was born November 8, 1979 in Miami, Florida to Claire Kirkman Melton and the late Robert William Martinez. Mr. Martinez graduated from Cordon Bleu Culinary College. He is survived by his sons, Izik and Logan Martinez and their mother, Windy Canaday of Roxboro, NC; his fiancée Melanie Duke and their daughter, Trinity of Mount Airy; mother & step-father, Claire & Carl Melton of Mount Airy, NC; and sister, Mary Martinez Clifton & her husband Adam of Winston-Salem, NC. In addition to his father, Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Martinez. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at Pilot Mountain Friends Meeting conducted by Matt & Abigail Linville. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 4 p.m. until time of service. Howell Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the family.
