Arrests

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has reported the following arrests:

• On Feb. 17, Shianna Jane Bowling, 30, of Watson Lane in Dobson, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and the destruction of property. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 17, Jacob Michael Tate, 22, of Capitol Lane in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and the possession of stolen goods. He also was charged with two probation violations. Tate was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 17, Phillip Crawford Shouse, 58, of Dry Pond Lane in Elkin, was arrested and charged with one count of embezzlement. Shouse was released from the Surry County Jail after processing.

• On Feb. 18, Kevin Michael Holt, 28, of Quaker Church Road in Siloam, was arrested and charged with larceny and three counts of obtaining property under false pretenses. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 20, William Blaine Wheeler, 25, of North Ridge Street in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with three counts of the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of the possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $75,000 bond.

• On Feb. 20, Kendra Beth Williams, 27, of Rosewood Drive in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, the possession of stolen property and obtaining property under false pretenses. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 20, James Arthur Jargis Jr., 50, of Crosswinds Place in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with three counts of being a fugitive from justice in Virginia. He is allegedly wanted in Patrick, Grayson and Carroll counties. Arthur was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $2,500 secured bond.

Incidents

The following incidents are being investigated by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office:

• On Feb. 17, Edward Lee Davis, 40, of Clayburn Lane in Mount Airy, reported the breaking and entering of his home and the theft of an infrared heater valued at $160.

• On Feb. 16, Brenda Atkins Whitaker, 61, of Rockford Road in Dobson, reported the breaking and entering of her home and the theft of an assortment of collectible coins and miscellaneous paperwork. The items taken were valued at around $4,000.

• On Feb. 16, Michael Ryan Simmons, 28, of Nettle Knob Trail in Lowgap, reported the larceny of a utility trailer loaded with firewood. The items taken were valued at $1,260.

• On Feb. 15, Sandra Jean Gillespie, 58, of Duluth Lane in Pilot Mountain, reported the theft of a Chevrolet S-10. The automobile was valued at $1,500.

• On Feb. 15, Bonnie Wright Donithan, 53, of Oak Circle in Mount Airy, reported the theft of a battery-operated child’s toy motorcycle. The toy was valued at $200.

• On Feb. 15, Donald Ray Hutson, 55, of Crotts Road in Mount Airy, reported the breaking and entering of the Community Church in Mount Airy. The suspects allegedly damaged a paper towel dispenser and took various household goods, according to the report.

• On Feb. 15, Rene Boyles Bowman, 48, of Coventry Lane in Statesville, reported the theft of various appliances from property located on Pool Street in Dobson. The items taken were valued at more than $3,000.

• On Feb. 15, Christopher Grant Cox, 44, of Charlie Norman Road in Mount Airy, reported that someone broke into his home. The only item missing was an outdoor grill, according to the police report. The grill was valued at $100.
