Mr. David Lee Ashton, 63, of Mount Airy passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Duval County Florida on July 12, 1948 to Mrs. Doris Redfern Ashton and the late Burton L. Ashton. Mr. Ashton was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served our country during the Vietnam War. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty one years, Janice Woodle Ashton of the home; his mother, Doris Redfern Ashton of Mount Airy; a step-daughter, Brandy Ashton Olah and husband Dan of Montreal, Canada; two grandchildren, Zachary Noah and Nicholas David Olah and two brothers-in-law, Ivan Woodle of Dobson and David Woodle of Bakersville, California. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Chaplain Justin Nelson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030 of to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
