Mrs. Lucy Irene Surratt Parries Age 86 of Mount Airy passed away Friday January 25, 2013 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy. Mrs. Parries was born March 7, 1926 in Surry County to the late Lester and Meadie Surratt Surratt, she was retired from Barber Hosiery Mill and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Jean Parries of Mount Airy and Greg and Marguerite Parries of Cana, three grandchildren Amy Parries, Sean Parries and Gregory Bo Parries, two great grandchildren Syrie Parries and Lacie Parries, two step grandchildren Michael Hiatt and Laura Brown and three step great grandchildren, Tyler Hiatt, Brandon Hill and Joseph Hiatt in addition to her parents Mrs. Parries was preceded in death by her husband Joe Bill Parries and by a brother William Lester Surratt.. Funeral services will be held Monday January 28, 2013 at 12:30 PM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with services conducted by Rev. Grover Holder with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 AM until time for the service at the Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, NC.
