• A Yadkin County woman has been served in Mount Airy with an order for arrest on a charge of cyberstalking, according to city police department reports. Melissa Dawn Holifield, 31, of 1141 Webb Ridge Road, Boonville, was located by police at the city magistrate’s office on State Street last Wednesday in regard to the alleged offense that had been filed on Sept. 15 through the Surry County Sheriff’s Office. An Elkin woman, Contessa Margarita Gentry of Claremont Drive, is listed as the complainant in the case.
Cyberstalking typically involves the alleged use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual, a group or an organization. Holifield was released after posting a $3,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Aug. 19.
• An unknown female is suspected in a theft discovered Wednesday at North Carolina Tire in the 1200 block of West Pine Street, where two truck tires and a 20-inch steel wheel were taken. The property was valued at $115.
• A Virginia license plate, number ZV9287, was discovered missing Wednesday from a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup owned by Donald Ray McMillion of Epworth Road in Cana. The plate was taken while the vehicle was at Blue Ridge Cardiology on Rockford Street.
