North Surry hoops camp coming in July

Staff Report

North Surry High School will host its annual youth basketball camp from July 11 through 14.

The Greyhound Basketball Camp is open to boys and girls who are entering the first through eighth grades. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. It focuses on the basic fundamentals of the game of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills. Each day will include controlled scrimmages and game situations to better improve the players’ understanding of the game.

North Surry head boys’ basketball coach Kevin King and his coaching staff lead up the camp, assisted by former and current players for the Greyhounds.

The cost of the camp is $75, although an early registration discount is offered to those who sign up prior to July 8. Early registrants may sign up for just $60. An additional $10 discount is also offered to brothers and sisters who sign up at the same time.

Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and the opportunity to learn the game and have fun. Campers should wear appropriate basketball attire including tennis shoes or basketball shoes. Campers should also bring a bottle for water, and may refill the bottle at any time while attending camp. Snacks and drinks will be sold during camp hours.

For more information or to sign up for the camp, contact Coach King at (336) 414-0367 or [email protected]
